All the facts, none of the waffle. We’ve cut out the boring bits of all the race reports we receive and left you with the good stuff. These are the insights into Round 6 of the MX Nationals, held at Hervey Bay, Qld.

• Hervey Bay marked the beginning of the second half of the 10-round series, after a 6-week break.

• CDR Yamaha’s Lawson Bopping scored a 1-2-1 finish, resulting in his first ever victory in the MX Nationals, proving himself as a championship contender.

• Todd Waters finished second overall for the day, now sitting only 12 points behind championship leader Josh Coppins, who finished fourth overall at Hervey Bay.

• Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing’s Brad Anderson placed third overall after a consistent day of racing.

• Anderson and Bopping are now tied for third in the championship standings.

• JDR KTM’s Dan Reardon had his best result this year, finishing fifth overall for the round.

• Jay Marmont now sits eighth in the championship standings after being forced to miss the round, due to medical clearance not being granted. Marmont is now well out of contention to defend his title, sitting 145 points behind leader Josh Coppins.

• Serco Yamaha Metal Mulisha Racing’s Luke Styke’s 1-1-4 resulted with the overall first place in the MX2 class, securing a staggering 46 point lead in the championship after six of ten rounds.

• Styke’s teammate Kirk Gibbs had his best round for the season, finishing second overall.

• Taking third place overall was Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing’s Ford Dale, who maintains second in the championship standings.

• JDR KTM’s Josh Cachia won the final moto of the day, but only placed eighth overall for the round after suffering a DNF in the opening moto, due to a mechanical failure.

• Cheyne Boyd placed seventh overall for the day, but remains third in the championship standings with 297 points, closely followed by Josh Cachia with 296.

• Round 7 will take place in Horsham on July 15, with Coppins and Styke looking to hold on to their red plates, Marmont hoping to return to the series, and the likes of Bopping and Cachia fighting to make the championship podium.
